WHAT IS THE GOLDEN CBD OIL LIKE?
Golden CBD oil is a hemp oil, which is distinguished from its competitors mainly by use of carbon dioxide (CO2) extraction technology and advanced filtration processes, which remove waxes, chlorophyll, and other unwanted compounds. Thanks to this production method we obtain CBD oil in a clean form and exceptionally highly concentrated.
Extraction of CBD by supercritical carbon dioxide method accounts for the beautiful, golden colour, from which the oils take their name. It also guarantees a wide range of valuable terpenes, flavonoids and cannabinoids, like CBDA, CBC, CBG, CBN on the ingredients list.
WHAT ARE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF CBD RAW OIL?
CBD Raw oil uniquely contains both CBD cannabinoid as well as its precursor – CBDa. This composition has been achieved by using a method of extraction which does not require heating and decarboxylation. This means that cannabinoids such as CBD, CBDA, CBG, CBGA and CBN as well as terpenoids and flavonoids are contained in the product, as the properties and molecular structure of the plant is not changed. The great advantage of this extraction method is also the certainty that no microbiological impurities or heavy metals are present in the oil.
ARE CANNABIS PRODUCTS LEGAL IN GREAT BRITAIN?
Yes, because they are based on industrial hemp, which does not have psychoactive properties and only contains a traceable amount of THC. As a result, hemp products are legal in the UK and in most countries around the world.
Our hemp products come only from plants that are legally grown across EU on plantations listed on the register of industrial hemp (Cannabis Sativa L.).
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PRODUCTS WITH ISOLATED CBD AND PRODUCTS WITH THE WHOLE SPECTRUM OF CANNABINOIDS?
CBD oils are produced by gentle heating, which transforms CBDA into CBD oils. Oil containing the full spectrum of cannabinoids was developed using a special method of carbon dioxide extraction, which allowed for preserving not only the full spectrum of cannabinoids, but also flavonoids and terpenoids. This enhanced content allows the oil to take wider effect; cannabinoids complement each other and intensify the effect of plant potential, acting together in synergy.
Before choosing the right product, we recommend checking the results of cannabinoid profile tests, which should be made available by every manufacturer.
IS HEMP USED FOR THE MANUFACTURING OF OUR PRODUCTS ORGANIC?
Yes, the hemp used to manufacture our products is fully organic. We ensure that no pesticides, herbicides, artificial fertilisers or other hazardous substances are used in their cultivation.
Hemp plants are not artificially stimulated to grow higher and faster, either. Everything happens in a natural way to enable you to access products of the highest quality. We monitor and control every stage of production from sowing to delivery to your door.
In addition, we support the raw material used for manufacturing our products with the organic certificate AT-BIO-01 and HU-OKO-02, certified in the UK by the independent certifier Biodynamic Association Certification GB-ORG-06 (Reg. No: 738).
IS TRAVELLING WITH CBD/CBDA PRODUCTS SAFE?
Even though CBD/CBDA is legal throughout the European Union, it is advisable to be cautious when travelling with it. As CBD and CBDA are obtained from cannabis, it is possible that airport security may be suspicious whether the product is derived from illegal cannabis or contains illegal components.
Although we have never heard of problems at the check-in when transporting products with CBD/CBDA, it is advisable to bear in mind that many people, including airport staff, may react with excessive caution.
Due to different legal regulations across the world we do not recommend travelling with CBD/CBDA products when visiting countries outside of the European Union.
Please always check legality of CBD products at your destination before you travel.
IS CBD/CBDA SAFE?
CBD/CBDA is considered to be extremely safe and can therefore be used even at high doses, as well as by children and the elderly.
Numerous studies have shown that it does not affect neither psychological nor psychomotor functions. Unlike many other medicines and supplements, no side effects or addictive effects have been observed.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO OVERDOSE CBD/CBDA?
Unlike many other products available on the market, CBD/CBDa oil is exceptionally safe to the human body. Although no advised daily dosage has been established and is often subject to individual preference, it has not been demonstrated that CBD can be overdosed.
In 2011, it was confirmed that CBD is safe even in large amounts and the only side effect may be a feeling of relaxation, blissfulness or sleepiness.
DOES CBD/CBDA REACT WITH OTHER AGENTS AND MEDICATIONS?
Products with CBD/CBDA are fully safe, however many other pharmaceutical medications may react with it, is causing side effects.
Therefore, when taking a course of prescription medications it advisable to consult a GP who should decide whether taking CBD/CBDA products is recommended for you.
ARE THE PRODUCTS OFFERED BY US CERTIFIED?
As an importer of organic products, we have appropriate certificates which confirm the quality and safety of our products.
We also have a special certificate which enables the distribution of organic products in the UK. This ensures that we meet all the formal requirements and that our products pass all the necessary tests.
The certifying body is the Biodynamic Association Certification GB-ORG-06 (Reg No: 738)
HOW TO DOSE CBD/CBDA OIL?
CBD/CBDA is usually taken in very small doses, although it remains safe also when a higher dose is taken.
Detailed dosage guidelines are not clearly defined, but most manufacturers recommend a preventive daily dosage of approx.
2-3 mg/10 kg body weight.
Depending on individual predispositions, a daily intake of up to approx. 200 mg is recommended.
However, it is best to contact your GP to determine the dose.
WHAT IS AN ENTOURAGE EFFECT?
The Entourage Effect is also called the synergy effect.
This term was coined in 1999 by Raphael Michael, who was the first to draw attention to the synergistic effects of secondary compounds in hemp.
In 2011 Dr Ethan Russo published a paper in which he described the effects of many active ingredients of hemp plant. Numerous studies have shown that the effect of the agents are different when there is only one cannabinoid or the full spectrum of cannabinoids combined with other valuable compounds contained in hemp.
The potential of all the ingredients is much greater than that of just one of them, thanks to their complementary effects.
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO TAKE CBD/CBDA?
CBD/CBDA is most often used in the form of capsules, extracts, oils, crystals or e-liquids.
At present, the most popular way taking CBD is either oil or capsules, but the effectiveness of each method depends on the individual and varies from case to case.
Vaporisation is a method for which, apart from the active substance, a special device called a vaporiser is needed. The capsules and oil are easy to use and can be kept at your side.
WHAT IS VAPORISATION?
Vaporisation is a special form of hemp administration.
It is safe, efficient, very comfortable and one of the healthiest inhalation methods. During vaporisation hemp is heated to the temperature of about
180-230°C so as to release active cannabinoids as steam without burning of dried herbs or oil. Unlike smoke, the vapour, does not contain tar, toxins or any carcinogens.
Vaporisation is carried out by means of a special device called a vaporiser, which is designed, among other things, to control the heating temperature.
It is worth noting that vaporisation allows to achieve higher efficiency than in the case of smoking.
As a result, we can use up to 80% of the available cannabinoids, as opposed to about 20% efficiency achieved when smoking, as the rest is destroyed by heat.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET ADDICTED TO HEMP PRODUCTS?
No. The hemp products have a commercially permitted THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) concentration of less than 0.2%, which means that they do not have psychoactive properties and do not lead to addiction.
WHAT IS THE ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM AND HOW DOES CBD WORK ON IT?
The endocannabinoid system is responsible for many important processes in the human body. The most important function of this system is adapting the body to changes in environmental conditions.
Endocannabinoid system is responsible for the creation of new connections in the brain as well as for a number of other processes such as sleep, control of stress, emotions and addictions, metabolism, digestion, appetite, energy balance as well as learning and memory.
The endocannabinoid system consists of cannabinoid receptors, endocannabinoids and appropriate enzymes for their distribution. The receptors are special forms of proteins, which are partly located with and partly outside the cell membrane, which enables their stimulation. Researchers distinguish two main receptors: CB1 and CB2.
Type 1 receptors are found in the brain, but can also be found in lungs, liver and other peripheral organs. Type 2 receptors are mainly related to tissues and cells of the immune system.
Endocannabinoids are formed mainly in bone cells and regulate the nervous system, taking part in the transfer of information between individual synapses. Two main known endocannabinoids are:
anandamide (AEA) and 2-arachidoneglycerol (2-AG).
The whole endocannabinbinoid system is regulated by enzymes, which are designed to regulate cannabinoids levels in the body.
Plant-derived phytocannabinoids such as CBD affect the endocannabinoid system by stimulating cannabinoid receptors in the human body. Studies have shown that phytocannabinoids are beneficial for the development of more cannabinoids and receptors in the human body.
CBD has a direct effect on serotonin receptors, regenerates various types of cells and has a holistic effect, as cannabinoid receptors are found practically in the entire human body.
WHAT EXTRACTION METHODS ARE THERE?
There are many ways of extracting cannabinoids, but it is worth noting that not all of them are equally effective and some of them may even be dangerous.
We will only ever offer products based on the safest method of CO2 extraction.
Extraction under supercritical conditions (SFE) with carbon dioxide (CO2) is especially beneficial.
The process is carried out at low temperatures and without the use of additional solvents. This method ensures that the oil we get is completely safe and of extremely strong potency.
In addition, CO2 extraction preserves the full spectrum of active substances such as cannabinoids, terpenoids and flavonoids.
It is also possible to use high quality ethanol for extraction, but oil obtained this way does not contain additional cannabinoids or other active compounds.
IS HEMP A DRUG?
Although hemp in many communities enjoyed poor reputation in recent years, it is in fact not a drug.
For more than 500 thousand years this plant has been widely used in many areas of life such as industry, construction, pharmacology, medicine, cosmetology or cuisine.
In the past, it was grown in many countries on an equal footing with linen because it is well suited for the production of clothes.
Nowadays, there is great interest in this plant with a particularly wide range of applications.
Unlike cannabis, which is often confused with hemp, it does not have psychoactive properties and therefore cannot be classed as a drug.
WHICH CBD CONCENTRATION TO CHOOSE AT THE BEGINNING?
The CBD dosage may vary significantly depending on a person and the effects you intend to achieve.
Concentration is defined by CBD content in the oil, which means that you can take the same dose of cannabinoid with using oils of higher or lower concentrations by simply changing the dosage. It is good to start with lower doses, for example 3-5 drops three times a day. At the start it is advisable to use oils with lower concentrations, which can be gradually increased if necessary.
IS MEDICAL MARIJUANA PREPARED FROM HEMP?
Medical marijuana is not produced from hemp, but from specially selected strains of cannabis, which contain a concentration of THC above 0.02%. It is used in treatment of cancer, appetite problems and to stimulate the immune and neurological systems.
The products we offer are made from selected varieties of hemp
(Cannabis Sativa L.) which do not have psychoactive properties. The THC content is below 0.2 %. This means that they are not subject to any restrictions in the European Union and many other countries of the world.
WHAT SUBSTANCES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE HEALTH EFFECTS OF HEMP?
Cannabinoids are the basic and at the same time the most important substances in hemp. Among them we distinguish CBD/CBDA, THC/THCA/THCV, CBN/CBNA and CBG/CBGA.
International research shows that they can have beneficial effects on the immune system as well as neurological system and many other beneficial properties.
Flavonoids are other valuable substances in hemp. They have been referred to in medicine and dietetics for a relatively short time, but in this short period many studies have been carried out, which prove the particularly beneficial effects of flavonoids. In plants, they are primarily intended to protect them from insects and fungi and act as an antioxidant.
Terpenes, these substances are the basis for essential oils and are often used in food additives, perfumes and aromatherapy. Plants such as rosemary, mint or basil have a strong terpene profile, for which reason they are referred to as aromatic plants. Hemp in turn has a wide range of terpenes (more than 200). Terpenes work synergistically with cannabinoids in the plant and can have a positive effect of hemp supplementation. The most popular terpenes are BCP (Beta-Caryophenylene), Alfa-Pinen, Limonen and Myrcene.
In addition to the above basic ingredients, our hemp products also contain a number of other extremely useful components such as protein, fibre , unsaturated fatty acids such as omega-3 and omega-6, as well as vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B3, B6, C, D and E and precious microelements, such iron, zinc, magnesium, chromium, arsenic and strontium.
WHAT CANNABINOIDS DO WE KNOW?
CBD – Cannabidiol
One of the most researched so far and the best known cannabinoid is cannabidiol or CBD. It is the second most common occurring compound in hemp. Unlike its isomer, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), it does not have psychoactive effect. CBD regulates THC by reducing its psychoactive impact. CBD and THC are the metabolites of their acid forms THCa and CBDa. These acidic precursors are decarboxylated to THC and CBD when exposed to heat or extracted. CBD is an attractive alternative for those looking for natural supplements. Like other cannabinoids, CBD affects the endocannabinoid system in every human and animal body. It is worth mentioning that CBD naturally occurs in milk during breastfeeding.
CBN – Cannabinol
This substance is present in hemp in very small quantities and only in fresh leaves. It is produced when a THC particle is decomposed as a result of oxidation. As in the case of many well-known cannabinoids, CBN cannabinol comes from CBGA cannabigerol acid found in hemp. The plant naturally produces enzymes that convert CBGA into one of the three main cannabinoids: CBCA cannabichromenic acid, CBDA cannabidiolic acid and THCA tetrahydrocannabinolic acid. When THCA is produced, it will usually be converted to THC by heat or UV light. With time, THC can be converted into CBNA. Long-term exposure of a hemp plant to air causes THCA to lose its hydrogen particle and oxidize to CBNA. Like other cannabinoidic acids, CBNA will turn into a CBN cannabinol under the influence of heat or UV rays.
TetrahydrocannabivarinTHCV has a stronger psychoactive effect than THC, but only affects the endocannabinoid system half as long as THC. As the name suggests, THCV is similar to THC in molecular structure and – like THC – has psychoactive properties, but is responsible for a lot of completely different effects.
THC – Tetrahydrocannabino
THC is the best-known cannabinoid, primarily because of its psychoactive properties. By stimulating a certain part of the human brain it releases dopamine, which is responsible for well-being and a sense of euphoria. Tetrahydrocannabinol or THC is an organic chemical compound from the group of cannabinoids. Oit is an isomer of cannabidiol. It is the main psychoactive substance in hemp. It is not soluble in water, but dissolves in organic solvents like alcohol or fat.
WHAT ARE TERPENS?
Terpenes are organic compounds found in hemp which can interact with one another and dissolve in fats and lipids.
Terpenes are organic chemical substances and their name is derived from turpentine. Turpentine, which is a constituent of coniferous tree resins, is a sticky, pleasantly fragrant balm that flows out of the area where the bark or wood is cut or scratched. Turpentine contains resin acids and carbohydrates, which are referred to as terpenes.
So far, more than 20 thousand of them have been identified by scientists. Terpenes are found in numerous plants, including hemp, in the middle of trichome glands, where light has a strong influence on their production.
They are mainly found in the unfertilised female hemp flowers before the maturing period. Essential oils are extracted from plant material by steam distillation or evaporation. Terpenes provide plants with natural protection against bacteria, fungi and insects and relieve environmental stress.
Terpenes are common ingredients of aromas and fragrances. They are responsible for the smell of hemp plant.
WHAT ARE FLAVONOIDS?
Flavonoids are active substances in hemp.
In plants, they are primarily intended to protect them from insects and fungi and act as an antioxidant. Flavonoids are a group of organic chemicals in hemp. They act as pigments, antioxidants and natural insecticides and fungicides to protect against insect and fungicide attacks.
Some flavonoids extracted from hemp plants have been tested for pharmacological effects. Clinical results are promising, but further research is needed to fully understand the role of flavonoids in overall therapeutic performance.
WHAT IS CBDA?
Cannabidiolic acid CBDA is CBD cannabidiol precursor in the form of an organic compound from the cannabinoid group.
It is found in hemp. Unlike its isomer tetrahydrocannabinol, it has no psychoactive effect, but it affects the intoxication process caused by THC. It is an non-psychoactive component present in hemp.
When CBDA is heated during smoking, vaporisation or decarboxylation, it is converted into CBD.
WHAT CAN BE MADE FROM HEMP?
Hemp is a plant with a particularly wide range of applications in many different areas of human life.
Many years ago it was used primarily in production of paper and naval ropes, as hemp’s fibres are very strong. Currently, hemp is widely used in medicine and cosmetology, to make such products as healing oils, capsules and CBD/CBDA crystals, liquids and shampoos, shower gels, creams and body butter and creams.
The wooden part of hemp stem has also been used in the construction industry and as a valuable fuel. Hemp seeds alone have a multitude of uses in food production. They are used to produce hemp milk and oil, willingly applied in the kitchen, but can also added directly to food.
WHAT INFLUENCES HEMP PRODUCT QUALITY?
When choosing hemp products it is worth considering a number of facts such as the origin of the plants from which a given product is made, the quality of the crops used and the production process itself.
When choosing your hemp product consider the following:
- Where does the product come from?
- Has it been created by an experienced and trustworthy manufacturer?
- Does the producer monitor all production processes, from sowing, growing hemp to the final product?
- Has the product been sufficiently analysed and subjected to periodic quality checks in independent laboratories and the test results published?
- What technology and equipment has been used in production? Was the supercritical extraction method (SFE) CO2 used?
- How were the plants harvested – manually or mechanically?
- Who ensures quality control and the correct manufacturing process? Does the brand work with experienced physicians, scientists, manufacturers and retailers?
CAN CBD OIL MAKE ME FEEL HIGH?
No. CBD is one of the most famous cannabinoids, but has not got psychoactive qualities. The feeling of high is caused by another cannabinoid – THC, which is found in very small quantities in hemp. As a result, CBD oil does not have adverse effect on your day-to-day activities or your ability to operate machinery. It can also be taken by children.
CAN HEMP PRODUCTS BE USED FOR ANIMALS AND ARE THEY AVAILABLE?
Endocannabinoid system, which is stimulated by cannabinoids contained in hemp products, is common for humans and animals, which means animals would also feel the benefits of taking a hemp product. In both British and foreign markets, hemp products for animal use are available.
WHAT IS CO2 EXTRACTION?
CO2 extraction is a special method of extracting hemp oil, which is characterised by low temperature and the use of carbon dioxide under high pressure.
This method allows you to extract a valuable product without the use of additional solvents. Low temperature, on the other hand, ensures that a wide range of cannabinoids, terpenoids and flavonoids available in hemp is preserved. As a result, we get the so-called synergy effect, i. e. complementary action of all active compounds.
CO2 extraction can occur in supercritical or subcritical conditions and is a highly advanced method requiring specialised equipment and extensive experience. For this reason, few companies are yet involved in the production of products using CO2 extraction, but it is advisable to choose these products above all because they are the safest and free of any contamination.
HOW CAN I TELL IF A CBD PRODUCT IS OF GOOD QUALITY?
Not all CBD products are of the same quality.
When deciding which one to buy try to select products made out of high quality plants cultivated organically, without the use of pesticides, herbicides or other substances harmful to the human body. Particularly worthy of recommendation are the companies that grow their own crops and control the process of obtaining CBD oil at each stage.
The extraction method used to produce the oil is also important in terms of quality. The safest and most effective method today is the extraction with supercritical carbon dioxide method.
When choosing a CBD product, please check whether the manufacturer has all the necessary quality certificates and whether it provides its customers with results of tests carried out on its products. The brands available in our store are known for their highest standards and are recognisable across Europe, which additionally guarantees their safety and high quality.
HOW IS CBD OIL DIFFERENT FROM THE EXTRACT?
Hemp extract is an oil which is extracted from hemp flowers and is rich in volatile substances.
The most valuable components of such a product are of course cannabinoids, of which CBD is one of the best known. There are many different methods of extraction, but the most effective and safe known today is the special technology of supercritical CO2 extraction.
The CBD extracts are very rich in aromas, which may vary from one hemp variety to another, and for which terpenes are primarily responsible. Flavonoids are also common in the extract. CBD oil is a blend of specific vegetable oils such as olive oil or hemp oil with hemp extract.
The most beneficial combination is of course the extract diluted in hemp oil. This method allows you to assimilate valuable ingredients from the extract, but also improves its stabilization.
